Mea Culpa Pinot Noir
Wine
Innocent Bystander Mea Culpa Pinot Noir is made with outstanding parcels of fruit from historic vineyards in the Upper Yarra and Coldstream locales of the Yarra Valley.
The fruit is cold soaked for two days then open fermented with a small whole bunch inclusion. A mix of natural and cultured yeasts are used.
The wine is pressed directly to French oak barrels for delayed malolactic fermentation and nine months of maturation. About 20% of the barrels are new. The wine is then bottled without fining or filtration.
Crimson red, Innocent Bystander Mea Culpa Pinot Noir oozes red fruit richness supported by fine silky tannins. Cellaring potential is seven years.
